3rd Grade Jasper Johns Initals and Numbers

Third grade students created Jasper Johns POP ART paintings. We looked at the repeating numbers and letters. We liked how he took ordinary images and made them interesting. The students used their initials and their favorite numbers to create their artwork. Each letter and number represents a different color family: primary, secondary, neutral, warm, cool, and complementary.

Get to know Ms. Hollern!

This is currently my fourth year at Cogburn Woods and my sixth year teaching! I graduated from Ohio University with a BFA in Art Education and attended SCAD for an MA in Art Administration.I am now currently working on a M.Ed at ACE university in curriculum and instruction. I am also coaching JV volleyball at the Milton HS this year. I love painting and working on art outside of school. I love the fall time - so I can cheer on my Ohio State Buckeyes and watch football all weekend long. I can't wait to see what this year will bring!

Get to know Mrs. Gunter

This is my first year at Cogburn Woods and I am happy to be here! I will be at CWES on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and on the other days of the week I will be teaching at other schools. This is my third year teaching art. I studied painting and printmaking at Savannah College of Art and Design and then went on to Georgia State University to earn a BFA in Art Education. Outside of school I love to run on trails, ride my bike, work on my own art projects and hang out with my husband, Jacob. I am looking forward to getting settled in at Cogburn Woods and making some awesome art with the students!
